In our present membership, we have 26 personel trained as firefighters.
We have 48 members that are HAZ-MAT certified, two of whom are certified
HAZ-MAT Technicians. We have 35 EMS personnel including 2 instructors.
Nine members are certified Fire Police.
Our membership is comprised of men and women of all ages, from students
to seniors, and from all walks of life.
The department as a whole is very active and newer members are encouraged
to take part in as much as possible. They are monitored by experienced
personnel to insure safe and proper practices and protocols. Young
members are mentored and encouraged to take advantage of all ongoing
training.
The membership business meeting is held the first Monday of the
month at 7:30PM. In case of a holiday, it is held the following
Monday. The remaining Monday nights throughout the month are used
for various drills and equipment maintenance.
Each piece of apparatus has an assigned crew for general upkeep,
maintenance, and cleanliness.
Each and every member of the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department
takes great pride in the service the department provides to the
Town of Scotland and the surrounding communities and are thankful
for the support our residents give our department to achieve our
goals.
